Will Apple’s iPad change B2B marketing?

March 2, 2010

Will Apple’s iPad change B2B marketing, was the question in our February poll. Of the people that reacted 59% voted yes, 41% voted no.

I am surprised to see that a majority of the voters thinks the iPad will change B2B marketing. The iPad will make mobile internet easier. For the users because they can leave their laptop home when they are travelling and for marketeers because they don’t need to produce special contents for mobile devices. But that’s all.

Nothing changes

For the rest nothing much will change. Why? Because the iPad is not new. It is a small laptop without a keyboard. But there is no extra functionality and there is nothing you can do with it that you cannot do with a laptop. So if the iPad has any effect on B2B marketing, the effect will be very small.

Did you vote yes and do you think the iPad will change B2B marketing, then please leave a comment and let me know what you think will change.

New poll

The new March poll is about your marketing budget and social media like Twitter, Facebook and others. The question: can you compensate a reduction of your marketing budget by starting to engage in social media. Le me know what you think and vote.
