Don’t hide your newsletter

November 11, 2009

We are looking for a new e-newsletter system. The e-newsletter company that we are considering gave us a few references. The names of companies already using their system.

Curious to see what their e-newsletters look like, I visited the websites of these companies to subscribe to their newsletter. On almost all of these websites I was not able to find information about a newsletter or how to subscribe. I had to use their local search function to find the subscription form.

There was only one company with a subscription form prominently on the frontpage of their website. This was the only B2C company on the list, letting out holiday houses.

A good e-newsletter (system) is an extremely powerful marketing tool. You are able to reach a lot of people fast and easy and at relatively low costs. And people that want to subscribe to your e-newsletter are the best prospects/customers you can get.  Therefore you should welcome these people with open arms and make it as easy as possible for them to subscribe.

Look at what B2C does and don’t hide your subscription form. Put it on the frontpage of your website!
