Size does not matter

December 11, 2009

How many e-mail newsletters do you delete without reading? Each time forgetting to unsubscribe because you are too busy or because you are really not interested.

And all the marketeers sending these newsletters are showing off with their big mailinglists with thousands of e-mailaddresses. Thinking all these people are on the verge of buying their products.

If you are sending out an e-newsletter too, don’t worry about the size of your mailinglist. Because there is a big chance a great number of people are not very much interested in what you send them. Because they recieve your newsletter just because they are in your mailinglist.

Therefore :

  • make it very clear in the subscription procedure what your newsletter is about
  • make it as easy as possible to unsubscribe

When it is about your e-mailinglist size does not matter. Think small. It is the quality of your mailinglist that is important.
