In his (otherwise great) book Socialnomics, Erik Qualman writes about social platforms as a great tool to stay in touch with your teenage children.
If you think Facebook, MySpace and alike are the best way to be informed about what your children are up to, I think you need to do something about you communication at home.
But on the other hand, in B2B marketing Facebook, Linkedin and all the other platforms are a great way to stay in touch with your customers and be informed about what they are up to.
First of all it is important to know what platform they use. Because where your customers are, you need to be too.
But it also enables you to give your marketing activities a personal tinge, when you have some background information about your customers. To know something about their personal life, their hobby’s and their interests gives you a great opportunity to better connect to them.
Therefore it is a good idea to make it a habit to try and find your customers on the social platforms and put links to their pages in your CRM system. That makes it easy for you to check the current status of your customer when you need to contact him or her.
Your customers will love you for having interest in their personal lives and activities. And it may also help you getting your customers interested to join your activities on the social platforms.

I like Fb! It helps make me reconnected with people I’ve messed up in touch with, also I’ve linked to lots of new guys too :D. Using Fb I can publish on their wall, email them, to see photo’s of my close friends little ones or places they’ve been. Allow me to ask my friends to my gatherings, or just be invited to theirs gatherings. And it also makes a true friendship analyze. Knowing these people and they also certainly add everyone else who is a mutual buddy but you, this lets you know how they really think of you. It hurts and it’s really a bad feelings, but at least you’ll understand the fact and can simply just forget about these folks. I really like Fb for the free games and also other apps and discover it’s just very fun however it is all to do with personal preference really. Some users adore it and some really don’t. Instead of myspace, Fb 10 times much simpler to look for your folks. And in addition its alot secure too.
